· Who is Sculpt 3D?

I'm Nick Graveley.
I'm Sculpt 3D.
The "VR modelling guy".

Nick Graveley
  • 20+ years in motorcycle design as a designer, clay modeller and XR digital modeller.
  • 100+ motorcycles sculpted for major OEMs and passionate privateers.
  • The pioneer of VR/XR modelling for the motorcycle industry since 2020.
  • Gravity Sketch certified instructor.
  • Craftsman. 2-wheel fanatic. Futurist and entrepreneur.
· How I work

Your project at the centre of everything.

  • Your own secure VR studio.
  • 24/7 access to the model with a VR headset or through your 2D browser.
  • Design inputs + Engineering inputs = My outputs.
  • Physical craftsmanship at digital speed.
  • The tangibility of clay, just now with colour and reflections.
  • Leveraging 20+ years of professional motorcycle design experience to build things that "look right".
  • I say "YES! Let's try it!" — not "No, it won't work." Sub-D is malleable, made for flexible exploration.
· The process

Sketch in, mature concept out.

  • Give me a sketch, a brief, and whatever technical package you have.
  • I'll work with your designer in Gravity Sketch to deliver the best possible design outcome.
  • We can review and change the models together at 1:1 scale from anywhere in the world.
  • Universally resolved surfaces handed back in record time — ready for Alias and production.
· The outcome

The best design outcome. At the lowest overall cost.

We pride ourselves on delivering the best design outcome possible — at the overall cheapest cost when you factor in time, iteration, and quality.

Constantly improving and evolving our offering, we are in the business of creating win-win partnerships.

  • An entire motorcycle modelled in a couple of days.
  • A mature first concept inside a week.
  • Timelines cut in half.
  • Tens of thousands saved.

Beyond the work

The human behind Sculpt 3D.

I grew up in the UK, leaving it at 23 to head to India, where I found my break into the motorcycle industry as a designer at TVS Motor Company. After an incredible three years in India I bounced around the world, finally settling in Munich, Germany — initially as a contract clay modeller at BMW, and then focussing on motorcycles and working for clients across Europe, the USA, India and Asia. In 2025, after 23 years away, I finally had to admit I just really like British people, and headed back to my native UK, settling in Devon.

With over 20 years of experience as a clay modeller, and now as a leader in the field of XR modelling, I'm the founder of Sculpt 3D — delivering design-modelling services and training — and of Form Chasers, the 3D digital motorcycle collection.

Back in 2020 I discovered Gravity Sketch and recognised it as the perfect marriage of clay-modelling and digital-modelling benefits. By combining traditional 3D craftsmanship with new digital XR tools, we deliver an innovative concept-development process that leverages the strengths of both — bringing model creation back into real 3D space.

I help teams implement our cutting-edge VR modelling processes to cut months off timelines and save tens of thousands of pounds on every project — reuniting fragmented teams around three-dimensional models in three-dimensional space.

I love building highly controlled Sub-D models from sketch all the way through the design-development process, leveraging 25 years of experience.

I believe in positivity, fun and innovation as the driving forces of my work. I enjoy sharing my knowledge and expertise with others, and lifting people up whenever I have the chance.

Two wheels

Two wheels are central to my life, not just my profession. Is there anything more elegant and efficient than two-wheeled conveyance? Riding — whether daily on mountain-bike trails with my dog, or across continents on a round-the-world motorcycle adventure — being on two wheels is my absolute favourite place to be.

In 2008 I spent a year riding 42,000 km from the UK to New Zealand on a Yamaha XT660R — an experience that deeply shaped how I think about motorcycles, durability, ergonomics, and real-world use. I also do long bicycle trips.

05 Who we work with

Pushing boundaries through innovation.

The most advanced electric race bike in the world deserves the most advanced techniques for everything.

We are proud to be Lightfighter's design partner.

Nick is working with some of the world's largest OEMs — delivering beautiful design models and training their internal design teams to do this themselves. Unfortunately, they won't let us name them — they recognise this is a competitive advantage.
