About Sculpt 3D
Bringing design back into three dimensions.
I started Sculpt 3D with one goal: to bring together the people who still care about three-dimensional craftsmanship — designers, modellers, and engineers who believe that great design can only be judged in the world it will actually inhabit.
After two decades working as a clay modeller, shoulder-to-shoulder with some of the best in the business, I began to see a pattern. As studios moved away from clay toward 2D digital tools, the quality of design suffered. Vehicles we see on the roads around us have lost their coherence. Surfaces have become noisy, volumes conflicting, the soul drained away.
That’s not nostalgia; it’s human perception. When you design through a flat monitor, you lose presence. You can’t stand beside your creation, feel its stance, or see how form develops across its surface. The honest, dynamic conversations that once happened around a full-size model between designer, modeller, engineer all but disappeared.
We are clay modellers with a vision for the future.
In 2017, Founder Nick Graveley saw a clay model he was working on scanned and rendered into VR, and he knew as soon as we could create and edit models in this 3 dimensional digital environment, it would change everything.
Finally in 2020, we evolved beyond the 2D monitor for digital working. Now with an inexpensive VR headset, we have a way to deliver our 3 Dimensional craft digitally.
Augmented Reality restores the essential human connection to form. The ability to sculpt, evaluate, and collaborate at full scale again, fully appreciating the presence of the model. It keeps everything digital teams love — speed, flexibility, precision — but brings back the physical experience that clay always gave us.
“Clay modelling taught me about proportion, surface flow, and craftsmanship. My VR headset lets me apply those same 3 Dimensional skills in a digital medium and work with teams anywhere in the world. It’s the same craftsmanship and human collaboration, reborn in a faster, more connected medium.”

How we’re building the future of design.
At Sculpt 3D, we help studios move their creative process from flat screens back into true three-dimensional space.
We do that through hands-on VR concept modelling, Gravity Sketch training, and workflow integration that makes immersive design an indispensable part of everyday practice — not a side experiment.
Our approach combines the precision of digital tools with the discipline of clay craft. Every model is built with clean, controlled topology and real surfacing integrity. The result isn’t just faster iteration — it’s higher quality, and accurate to the design constraints. Teams come together around full scale models, wherever they are in the world.
This isn’t about replacing clay; it’s about keeping what made it great and giving it a future.
We believe the next generation of design classics will be born in three dimensions — built by digital craftsmen and women who fully understand form and craft in 3 Dimensions.
