Concept surfaces, ready for Class-A.

I build the Sub-D concept surfaces and the edge-flow groundwork. When a programme needs Class-A surfacing, I can arrange it through a specialist partner.

What I do, and what a partner does

I do not deliver Class-A surfacing myself. I build the Sub-D concept surfaces: the form, flow and highlight intent, resolved at full scale in VR with your designer. When a programme needs Class-A, I can arrange it through a partner company that delivers it.

Why the groundwork matters

Because the form is judged in three dimensions, in real light and at full size, the surface model that reaches Class-A surfacing is far less ambiguous than one derived from 2D sketches. My surfaces are structured so an Alias team can rebuild them.

What you get

  • Sub-D concept surfaces as OBJ and FBX meshes.
  • Alias-ready surfaces, structured for rebuilding.
  • Renders and turntables for review.

The same approach has taken concepts as far as production bikes. See the case studies below.

Proof · The Lightfighter

The Lightfighter V2-RS and V3-RH electric race bikes were modelled end to end in VR, with designer Fabien Rougemont and founder Brian Wismann. The V3-RH took P2 at Barber Motorsports Park, Lightfighter’s first MotoAmerica podium.

Common questions

  • Do you do Class-A surfacing yourself? +

No. I build Sub-D concept surfaces and the edge-flow groundwork. When Class-A surfacing is needed, I can arrange it through a partner company.

  • Can your surfaces feed an Alias team? +

Yes. The models are highly controlled and highlight-clean, and Alias-ready surfaces are structured so an Alias team can rebuild them.

  • What formats do you deliver? +

OBJ and FBX meshes, Alias-ready surfaces, and renders and turntables. Not STEP or IGES.

  • Which projects have been built this way? +

The Brixton Storr 500 (EICMA 2022, now a production bike) and the Lightfighter electric race bikes. Both are case studies on this site.
